Wigan's new Vets faced a baptism of fire in their inaugural game under the clubs new floodlights.
Despite a large and vocal home attendance and 12 weeks worth of tick and pass training the lads could not transfer the silky skills shown at training into the big game situation and were three tries down by half time!!
In the second half the team had began to gel (helped in no small part by the fact that we were playing down hill) and we matched LSH blow for blow - crossing the white wash with a well worked training ground move. Sadly we could not build on this, lacking height in the line-outs, weight in the scrum and speed in the back line. A late LSH try sealed the defeat.
It was a great night though - enjoyed by the clubs largest attendance of the season. Hopefully the old farts will have recovered form the bruises and stiffness by the time of our next game on the 13th November.
Back to Tick n Pass on a Monday night 7pm - all welcome!!
