Desperately in need of a run out, Wigan u12s prayed for no rain on Saturday night and ended up playing in glorious sunshine at Ormskirk.

First up we're Ormskirk, brimming with confidence following a win over a big LSH outfit. From the kick off Wigan got off to a flyer with the slick back line putting Mack in after 2 mins, duly converted by Harry B. Good forward drives from Jack and Kyle, and Tom P (playing like an extra forward) led to Corey scoring on 5 mins, Harry converted. Wigan were in total control and playing down the hill, threw the ball about at will with Tom giving plenty of clean ball for the lively backs of Oliver, Will, Danny and Luke to break the gain line. Another well worked backs move gave Big Mac his second try, with a skilfully drop kicked conversion from Captain H. Further scores followed from Will and Christian, the latter scoring a virtual length of the field classic, not bad for a prop with a good turn of pace. Harry slotted both conversions H T 35-0.

Second half had hardly just begun when Wigan lost Eli following the kick off with a bang on the bonce and left the field, not to return. Following which early pressure from the hosts and they scored inthe corner. A further score from Ormskirk made Wigan sit up and decided to start playing. Wigan as always wanted to run everything, on 2 occasions refusing to kick from behind their own line. The barbarian style rugby was good to watch with every player looking comfortable with a ball in hand. To finish off the game a tap penalty drive from Big Jack led to a true forwards try, although he injured his ribs attempting a Chris Ashton dive ! Again Harry converted. Final score 42-14. next up local rivals LSH.
