A rematch against Leigh who we met in the group stages in December coming out on top then 26-10 played on a very cold day on the 4G pitch at Leigh East. This time however would be different, this time playing at Leigh RUFCs home ground in conditions best described as soft to very soft.

The game started tight, both teams testing each others edefence with Ligh maybe just edging it but after 11 mins some great forward work was capped of with a break by Toby to open the scoring with Joss just mssing the extras. 0-5

After 14 minutes Wigan appeared to be in again as Logan chased his kick through only to be brought down by their full back off the ball. Wigan awarded a penalty try. 0-12

Another kick chase after 19 mins, this time Logan's kick touched down by Billy, Joss now had got his eye in and did the business. 0-19

Leigh now mounted some sustained pressure on the Wigan line and were rewarded with a try on 26 mins to reduce the deficit to 5-19. They continued the pressure but Wigan managed to resist 'til half time.

A great start to the second half saw Toby make a great break through and make a lot of ground, the ball then shipped to Logan who delicately kicked trough for Bill again to score, Joss converting 5-26.

After 10 mins Wigan were awarded a penalty and Joss' reliable boot added the 3. 5-29

A patient build up for the next try Wigan kept possession through many phases, slowly adding pressure and rewarded when Luc got through to score, again Joss adding the extras. 5-36

Some scrum practice followed for the forwards as the ref reset on scrum about 7 times, Wigan dominance showing as they were winning all against the head only to be penalised in the end.

Leigh though had the final say and popped over for an unconverted try just before the final whistle.
