U11S VICTORIOUS AT ORMSKIRK

With a few late cry offs, players fishing, skiing, footballing, knitting the pre match preparations were not good. Wigan turned up with a bare 9 players, borrowing 3 from Orkskirk for the game against Tarleton. 5 minutes in to the game Phils undefeated u10s were recruited and the Ormskirk lads were released from the temporary transfer to Wigan.

Wigan 42 - Tarleton 0

With the welcome return of Harry B, the team was inspired.Against a much bigger team again the Wigan side were always on top, especially when the ball went wide. Great runs from Ethan, Will and George ensured Tarleton were never a threat. Louis, Tom, Jacob and Christian tackled anything that moved, and dominated the line outs. Eli provided Harry with clean ball at the back of the scrum and lines, who threw the ball wide at every opportunity. Mention must go to Josh, than and Joe, who also stood out despite playing up and age group, with both Joe and Ethan getting on the score sheet. Apologies but I am not sure who else scored but it was a great team effort.

Wigan 21 - Ormskirk 7

For the decider, Wigan were cold and nervous but were told to play in much the same vein as the first game against a big Ormskirk side. However,during the early exchanges not a inch was given by both sides with defences on top. 0rmskirk were the first to score, but Wigan were always in the game. Great runs from Harry, Christian and George with Wills tactical kicking piled the prerssure on Ormskirk with Ethan eventually scoring.this was followed by further scores from Joe and Christian to seal the win. MOM Christian - an award that has been coming for the last few weeks. Well done to all.
