Wigan arrived with a strong team considering the distence that was reqiured to travel to the game. The team comprisd off Archie, Rhys, Patrick, Joe, Luis, Jacob, Oliver, Jude, Brandon, William and Thomas.
Wigan were to play 4 games Kirby x2 and Blacburn x2
The first game was against Blackburn B and the Lions went straight on the attack with Rhys scoring two quick try's followed by Oliver and Jude. Blackburn had fought back and it needed a late try form Jacob to seal the win by 2.
Wigan's next game against Kirby A was looking close with trys again from Jacob, Oliver and Rhys; who had to thank a massy running by Willam to set him up, keeping Wigan in front. This was helped along by some determind play from Archie who not only carried on the quick defence from the first game but also got on the score sheet. Wigan won by 1.
After another qiuck turn around but on a different pitch Wigan came across Kirby B. This was a well contested game were again Archie scored and led the line along with Rhys who Kirby must have thought had a twin on the pitch, as he was tagging one person and back onside to tag the next. This game had two excellent try's. One was when Brendon seemed to allude everyone but was tagged just short of the line popping the ball to Rhys who stepped over to score. The other was a long solo effort from Joe. Wigan won by 2
The final game was against Blackburn A. The boys had had a little brake and it seemed to effect them as they stuggled to get warm, again Archie was first to the line and Rhys some good runs and try's. Wigan draw this one with Blackburn scoring at the death.
Man of the match was Archie.
But well played to all the boys.
