Wigan U8's Show Great Form

With their first home fixture of the season, Wigan U8's hopefully showed what lies ahead this year with a well structured performance against Littleborough RFU.

From the first whistle, every player delighted in what was a fantastic team effort. Having only 6 available players, Littleborough kindly offered to loan 2 players (rotated after each half) to ensure all players had the opportunity of playing given the large squad Littleborough brought to Douglas Valley.

Playing two games, Wigan's young stars showed great speed and attack to run in several quick tries. Not to stop there, their strength in defence restricted Littlebrough on many occasions from crossing the whitewash, as every player (Littleborough's included!) took tag after tag, forcing the handover on the sixth.

As a team, everyone played their part in an all round show of speed, agility and skill. However faced with a difficult decision, both coaches agreed that the MOM would go to George for his outstanding performance, not just in attack but also in defence, as time after time he imposed his presence on the pitch - a chip of the old block John!!

Once again a big thank you to Littleborough for bringing so many players and look forward to the return fixture.
