Wigan U7 shine on a cold Sunday morning at Tyldesley.

Despite the cold and windy conditions Wigan U7s showed great skill and resolve to continue their impressive form. With 8 players available including debutant Harry, Wigan's players kindly offered 2 players each half to Tyldesley to make a 6 aside game to ensure nobody had to stand around in the winter conditions.

With two games played, the speed and skill on show provided the loyal supporters (many shivering in their winter attire) with something to warm the hearts as they watched glowing with pride, or possibly wind chill!

Both Grace and Kate proved that it not just a boys game as both showed great skill and speed to ensure Wigan remained on the front foot. Some slick passing by Sam and Zack ensured the games remained a free flowing affair, George as usual showed his great strength and Tom C covering the pitch to make some try saving tags. Tom D displayed some nifty footwork to score a fabulous try and with debutant Harry keen to show his skill and desire to the coaching staff, left the defence guessing and crossed the line for his first try in Wigan colours. A performance worthy of praise with the award of Man of the Match!

With a Tyldesley referee who encouraged both teams to enjoy themselves - as should be the case - and some fantastic rugby from a strong opposition, all children left the field with smiling faces. With a 2 course meal (sausage roll and homemade cake) for the exhausted troops, it was great to finally get back to playing the wonderful game after a few weeks of wet weather.

With Wigan U6's growing in confidence each week and for that matter numbers (having nearly equaled a squad size similar to an NFL team) they again showed speed and skill to ensure the future remains bright for Wigan's Minis. As usual they entertained with numerous tries and some great play to leave both coaches scratching their heads when choosing this weeks MoM. A worthy choice was agreed as Joe received the accolade.

Next week sees welcome home fixtures against West Park.
