Macmillan (Wigan) and Three Wishes receive £2,200 each

Back in December two of Wigan’s premier rugby clubs came together in memory of Ronnie Dutch. Wigan Rugby Union and Wigan St Patricks Rugby League played in a cross-code game at Douglas Valley in the inaugural Ronnie Dutch Memorial trophy. The game was played in terrific spirit, closely fought and a fitting tribute to the man who meant so much to both clubs and the wider community.

This weekend both clubs attended a presentation alongside the two charities which will benefit from the money raised. A grand total of £4400 was raised on the day with Wigan Macmillan and the Three Wishes Charity receiving £2200 each.

Ronnie’s wife, Jacqui, had a few words of thanks for everyone involved, “Today we presented cheques to the Three Wishes Cancer Centre and the Macmillan Nurses Wigan. We raised a whopping £4400 in memory of Ronnie. Thanks go out to each and every one of you who supported this event.”
