The function room was packed to the rafters, with around 120 friends of Frank representing his life in Rugby - including delegations from Orrell RUFC, Lancashire Rugby, Halbro Lancs Colts League, players he played alongside in the 60's and 70's, players he coached at club and county levels, club members, friends and family. The club could easily have doubled the numbers - had the club had a larger function room - testament to the respect the rugby world has for Frank.
The evening was delivered through reminiscences from Graham Carter (Chairman and former team mate); Butty Mellling (former Club Captain and one of Franks Colts); Shaun Wane (Ex Wigan Warriors and next door neighbour); hosted by Winston Higham and toasted by Martin Rigby. It culminated in an audience led question and answer to Frank about his life in rugby.
I think all present will concur that it was a most memorable evening.
