Sam started his Rugby Union career as a Young player at Orrell before moving codes to Rugby League. He was on the books at Warrington RL before securing a move to his home town club, Wigan Warriors. A move to the Capital beckoned as he signed for London Broncos and after a couple of years with them he came back North to sign for Whitehaven. A final move in Rugby League saw him move to Oldham where he played over 100 games and was the club Vice-Captain.

Sam moved home to Wigan Rugby Union in 2017 and has been a key member of the squad since then.

Sam is the great Grandson of the legendary Wigan & Great Britain prop Ken Gee and the grandson of the Wigan & Lancashire legend John Gee. Sam will follow in John’s footsteps as a club captain. Another Gee to add to the honours board!

1st Team Coach, Martin Scott said ‘we are delighted Sam has agreed to become Club Captain for the coming season. His approach to the game sets high standards for all and the other lads follow him without question. He has been a great asset to the club and his hard work has paid off as he gets to wear the captain’s armband in what promise to be an exciting season’.
