As we look forward to the 2022/23 season in the re-calibrated ADM RFU leagues, we are please to announce Tom Wilson will take over as captain for the 1st XV following several seasons as VC. Club stand off Sam Gee will bring his professional rugby league experience to the VC role.

The club would like to thank outgoing Captain Adam Dwyer for his leadership over the last two seasons. Faced with a very difficult set of circumstances, Adam has been a consistent positive for the team with his versatile performances from the back row to outside centre. Adam has led from the front with his combative, all action style of play which resulted in several Man of the Match awards over the campaign.

Martin Scott and Darren Fletcher ‘wish to thank Adam for his captaincy over some of the most difficult times that club has been through in recent history. Adam is an inspiration to others and has always played and trained giving 100% every time he has worn the Wigan jersey. Marriage and additions to his lovely family have brought new pressures on his time and family life whilst also working full time. We hope Adam will remain a fixture of the team and remain an integral senior player along with previous captains Lee Roby and Killian Wallace.
