Over £1000 raised for Club and Cancer Research.

Club stalwart Mike Parker and his business partner, Mark Haig, have successfully completed their canoeing challenge in Scotland.
They set off on Monday 13th May from Fort William on the West Coast of Scotland to raise money for Wigan RUFC and Cancer Research.

They followed the Great Glen Canoe Trail from Loch Linnhe and down the Caledonian Canal before crossing the open waters of Loch Lochy and Loch Ness. This took them to the slightly more sheltered waters of Loch Oich and Loch Dochfour prior to tackling the white water on the River Oich and River Ness.

A total of £1106.60 was raised for each cause, with the Club’s share dedicated to training equipment.

Junior Chairman, Ian Morgan, commented:
“This is a fabulous effort from the lads who really went the extra mile. New training equipment should set the Junior Section up nicely for next season. You can never have too many training balls”
