In common with many other sports clubs, who derive their income from multiple streams, we are finding the current economic climate challenging. Since March our bar takings have been minimal, very little food has been sold, and we haven’t attracted the usual match sponsorship and advertising. Though we have reduced our outgoings there are still unavoidable charges which we must settle.

I am aware that many of you generously supported our Crowdfunding appeal, which raised £16,130, and will know that this has been used to fund the first phase of our road improvement project.

If we are to continue to make such progress as a club then we must sustain our income. Thus, I would ask you to renew your membership or join the club for the first time. In view of the fact that we are not operating normally the committee have decided to reduce some subscriptions for the 2020-21 season. This contrasts with many local rugby clubs who have continued to levy their normal fees.

The levels of subscription will be:

Life Patrons and Honorary Members - No obligation to pay but we appreciate that many of you continue to do so.
Vice-Presidents and Patrons - £50
Senior players - £50 (A match subscription will be collected when, and if, fixtures resume)
Junior Players - £50 (This will cover all siblings in the section)

Unlike previous seasons, when we collected subscriptions by direct debit through the website, we would prefer one-off payments this time. There is also the difficulty that the usual registration event might compromise social distancing.
